How the comparison works

How often we update

We download the price lists of every shop once a day, in the early hours of the morning. Every page shows the date of the last update: between one run and the next a price can change, so what counts is the price you see at the seller's checkout.

Where the key works

A key activates in a specific market. 92% of the ones we list are global or European, but some are tied to another country and don't work elsewhere: that is why the validity is shown in the specifications. We leave out cards in foreign currencies and markets that can't be used in the UK.

Why it costs less

The shops we compare are resellers and marketplaces, not the publisher: they set the price, and on some of them individual sellers do. That is why the same game varies a lot from one shop to another: the median difference we measure is 20%, and on one product in six it exceeds 50%.

What happens after the click

We take you to the shop's website, where the purchase happens: we don't sell anything and we don't handle payments. We record the click to know which offers people are interested in, and we keep the IP address only as a fingerprint, never in plain text. If you buy, some shops pay us a commission at no extra cost to you.
